Since fall is now in full swing (if your definition of fall in Chicagoland includes 70 degree days here and there), we’ve decked our halls to the max with candles, leaves, and pumpkins galore. Garlands have been wrapped around the lights outside, the mantle has been dressed to the nines, and elaborate arrangements have been placed on any remaining tabletop throughout the house.
One of our favorite aspects about the porch design are the stacked pumpkins lining each side of the door. This is INCREDIBLY easy to replicate! All you need are three plastic pumpkin trick-or-treat bins, gold- or bronze-colored paint, and glue, which you can pick up at Target, Walmart, or virtually any other store. After painting the pumpkins, glue the rim of the open top against the bottom of the next pumpkin and let it dry. You can then garnish with flowers, cattails, or any other plants if you wish.
As is the norm, Sue utilized several items we already had around the house, including the old wagon spruced with pots of flowers and a barrel of hay out on the front porch. She also purchased new neutral-colored place mats for the dining room and arranged our dishes for a three-course meal, which we hope will serve as an example on how you can set your table this season.
We hope you enjoy our pics and that they give you lots of inspiration to do the same around your home! What fun activities have you been up to or like to do to get pumped for the autumn season? Let us know in the comments below!
