Our Lilly Pulitzer-Inspired Porch

Who here loves Lilly Pulitzer? We sure do! The brand is well known for their bright, happy colors and gorgeous floral prints spotted on ladies dresses, tops, swimwear and more. The style is SO perfect for summer that Sue decided to take it to the next level and implement it through outdoor decor!

Now, you may have seen the background setting for our posts The Chic Technique's Dress Week: Dress #1 and The Marvelous Miss Maddy. It is indeed our front porch, which was cute...but kind of all over the place with contrasting brown furniture, red cushions, and pastel colored flowers. What were we thinking?! The issue was immediately resolved as Sue put herself to work by re-purposing the existing furniture pieces and highlighting them with colorful accents in neon hues.

The wicker sofa, the two plastic chairs, and the plastic table were originally brown, and were starting to fade thanks to constant sunlight and age. Sue brought them back to life by painting them with white Rust-Oleum spray paint and primer. She also used the same type of paint and primer on the remaining metal table, but applied turquoise rather than white so it could stand out. All pieces truly look brand new now!

The turquoise cushions on the sofa are from Home Goods, and the two pillows in green and pink are from Pier One Imports. The outer pillows showcase covers that Sue also purchased from Pier One, hiding fall patterns that we've used for the autumn season. All items were bought half off their original prices during Pier One's summer sale. Sue finished the look by adding matching silk flowers to metal pots she already owned atop both tables.
