Merry Christmas Eve-Eve! We're T-minus 48 hours away from the most wonderful day of the year, and we're spending our time by completing last-minute gift shopping, building gingerbread houses, and viewing more local light shows. Last night, Sue, Taylor, and the family hopped in their cars for The Morton Arboretum's "Illumination" drive-thru event, featuring a forest beautiful trees aglow with thousands of sparkling lights timed to Christmas music. For those of you in the Chicagoland area, we recommend checking it out!
We'd like to wrap up our home décor posts for this year by showcasing Sue's holiday decorations, all in a theme Taylor refers to as "Vintage Candy Cane!" Gorgeous pops of bright red can be found in bows, poinsettias, pillows, wreaths, and arrangements all around the house, while hues of white and ivory lend a soft and clean feel. Cherished pieces such as the nutcrackers, table runners, and crystal lamps are ones that have been in the family for years. The simple, rustic look of the family room is the only outlier, which features our autumn tree appropriately altered for Christmas, shining strands of beads, and glittering ornaments in silver, gold, and bronze.
Have a wonderful Christmas Day everyone--we look forward to hearing about your holiday memories through our 2020 send-off post next week!
